The kid must dwell in the school district, but a guardianship isn't needed to demonstrate where someone lives. If he or she enters on a guardianship, U.S. citizenship becomes automatic upon completion of the adoption in this country. In a stepparent or relative adoption, he or she remains in the custody of the person who asked to adopt the child (if that person is able to take care of the child).
In case the kid is above age 12, the youngster will also need to agree to the adoption, and have to file the Consent to Adoption for children below age 12. If he or she is over twelve years of age, the child must also consent. After the pre-placement visits, he or she will be placed in your home and you will become responsible for the child's care. He or she may be related to the person adopting the child either by blood or by marriage.
