S	TEP	 1	 - You will need to complete the following forms:	
• Domestic Relations Information Sheet
• Petition for Dissolution of Marriage	
S	TEP	 2	 - Deliver the above listed forms to the court clerk's office in the county 	
in which you reside. Pay the filing fee of 	$137.00	.	
S	TEP	 3	 - You will have to serve your spouse all the required forms as well as the 	
Summons	 and have him or her complete the form and send or hand-deliver the 	
form back to you. You will have to 	file	 the completed summons to the clerk's office

S	TEP	 4	 - You will have to meet with your spouse to negotiate and fill out the 	
following forms:	
• Verified Marital Settlement Agreement
• Child Support Worksheet
• Parenting Plan
• Final Decree of Dissolution of Marriage	
S	TEP	 5	 - At this time, you are able to schedule a court hearing date. Be sure to 	
notify your spouse of the date when you receive it from the clerk.
S	TEP	 6	 - Go to your court hearing and if you have followed the steps correctly 	
the Judge will authorize your	 Final Decree of Dissolution of Marriage	. After 	
you have filed this form with the clerk after the court hearing then your divorce 
will be complete in New Mexico.
